IXA launched the first edition of the Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award in 2005. Each year during the finale of the Award, the Innovation Award is granted to researchers and students from all of the universities, universities of applied sciences and institutes across Amsterdam.
Until now, the Innovation Award has generated more than 400 innovative and practical ideas. Many of these have resulted in concrete applications and some even formed the basis for new businesses.
Since 2018, the Impact Award is annually awarded to distinguished researchers or research groups who have made a meaningful contribution to society with their research and innovations.
