Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award 2023

The Amsterdam Science & Innovation Awards 2023 helps move innovative ideas into the next stage of application, towards real societal impact. On 21 November in NEMO Science Museum, the Innovation Awards were presented to 3 winners, and also 3 Impact Awards were presented to researchers that have made real impact through their research.

By winning the Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award we received a lot of media attention for the brain scanner in the ambulance of the Amsterdam UMC. Thanks to this media attention we also achieved our Heart Foundation crowdfunding campaign goal to finance the equipment. In 2022, we founded the Amsterdam UMC spin-off company TrianecT to iterate our research into a commercially available brain scanner that can help all suspected stroke patients in every ambulance.
